Q: What programs can you print from?
A: Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher), Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Quark.



Q: How can I send a file for printing?
A: You may email us a small file or use our automated system here.



Q: Can you deliver straight to my office?
A: Yes. A small courier fee will apply.



Q: Do you keep files I send to you?
A: We do not keep your files unless specifically arranged.



Q: Why does the print look different than my screen version?
A: Monitors display colours using RGB, while printers use CMYK inks to reproduce colours. In addition, every monitor is different. It would be impossible to match colours to your screen exactly.



Q: What is a ZIP file?
A: A ZIP file is a compressed archive that may hold 1 or many files. You can download the software necessary to create or open a ZIP archive by clicking on the Get WinZIP link.



Q: What is a PDF file?
A: PDF stands for Portable Document Format and is generated by Adobe Acrobat. You can download the software necessary to open a PDF by clicking on the Get Adobe Reader link.



Q: What is a bleed?
A: Printing that goes beyond the edge of the sheet after printing. This ensures that once your product is trimmed, no white lines will show on any edges.



Q: What types of paper stock do you carry?
A: We have an entire library of paper stocks: everything from linen to matte to canvas to glossy to vinyl. Please ask 1 of our staff for more details.



Q: What is the turnaround time for my job?
A: This depends on the type of job and how busy we are. Something simple and straightforward printing will take a day, while offset or graphic design services may take longer.



Q: What do I need to supply with my job?
A: A PDF file or high quality JPG (300 DPI).



Q: What is the largest file I can upload?
A: 1GB.



Q: I need my order rushed. Can you help me?
A: Yes. Rush orders are available. However, this means other orders may be delayed, so a rush fee will apply to your order.



Q: Do you offer design services?
A: Yes, we have an in-house graphic designer who can help with all your design needs.



Q: Are there any jobs too small for CalWest?
A: No. In the age of digital printing, no job is too small. If you need a 2 colour prints or 200 colour prints, we will be happy to help you.
